interview
the grill: when did you first get involved with music at governors?
jade: 10th grade, i joined jazz band
g: what instrument do you play and when did you start?
j: i play the bass guitar and i started playing sophomore year.
g: whats your favorite part about being involved with music here?
j: the background of it all. for example, working with a group of musicians and creating chemistry with them, working towards a goal and then finally performing with them.
g: how did you get involved with the morning meeting band?
j: iv'e always worked closely with jeremy and riche. junior year we used to improvise together a lot but now its a lot harder to do during the week 'cause we have really busy schedules. it's a bummer. since jeremy is the head of the band he sets everything up. he is always open for suggestions but we usually don't prepare much. we would rather just improv. on stage.
g: what made you want to play bass?
j: i always really like the bass in songs but i decided to actually pick it up because my good friend cristina (schwertschlag) played acoustic guitar and i
wanted to be able to jam with her. it sounds really awesome.
